This is your Guide to The Lawton and Stoakes Veterinary Practice.   We cater for all domestic animals as well as offering a referral service for Exotic Animals and all Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery cases.

PLEASE NOTE - we are open and offering a full service ,   but due to the current Pandemic,   When attending the Surgery,   there will be   STRICT PROTOCOLS   in place .

The Government is moving to Step 4 and the majority of the current Legal Covid restrictions will end on 19th July 2021.   The PM urged the Public to remain vigilant and exercise caution and the Government has passed responsibility of Care onto each of us ,   rather than enforce through legislation .

A   positive test   or instruction form NHS   (Track & Trace)   to isolated can severely impact our Staff and our ability to continue to offer You our services and may even require a closure of the practice .   We have undertaken risk assessments and have no option but to continue with   STRICT SAFETY MEASURES   in our Practice to protect our Staff ,   you our Client and to prevent the possibility of our having to close or suspend our providing you with our services .   We therefore have no option but to enforce ongoing strict policies   : -

We will continue to be controlling access to the surgery on a pre-booked basis including for repeat prescriptions .   On arrival you need to phone the Receptionist from outside of the surgery .   Only one person   (per family)   will be allowed into the surgery with their animals for the consultation .

We require that you wear face coverings in our Waiting Room .

The size of our consultation rooms are such that we need to control interactions between our staff and Clients .   Clients can not be in the Consultation room with the Vets and Nurses ,   but we continue to provide full involvement through the use of telemedicine   -   you will be in a separate Isolated & Sanitised room ,   where you will be able to see by a live video link the full examination of your pet by the veterinary surgeon and are able to fully discuss your concerns and our findings and all the treatment options .

If you are unwell or in isolation please DO NOT come down to the surgery .

Consultation Details     - Animals for examination will be taken by a Nurse into the consultation room with the Vet.   Our Client will be directed to a seperate isolated room that has been sanitised   (between clients),  where you will be by yourself and can remove your face covering ,   for the Consultation to be undertaken through a live Video conference link so that you can fully see the examination of your pet and discuss your concerns with the Veterinary Surgeon without our risking direct contact .

Unfortunately,   at this time ,   Clients that have Children or other dependent adults with them will be required to stay outside of the surgery and the consultation will be undetaken by telephone   ( - this is essential to keep environmental contamination to a minimum) .

by pre-arranged appointments only
