The Sugar Glider

Scienfic Name:- Petaurus breviceps

The Sugar Glider is a small arboreal marsupial that came from Australia,   Indonesia,   and Papua New Guinea.   They have the ability to glide from tree to tree like a flying squirrel as they have a membrane of skin from wrist to ankle which,   when gliding,   opens into a parachute like system.

Habitat :- They are best kept into an aviary so that they climb and jump (fly) form branch to branch or side to side.   They are inquisitive and enjoy exploring everywhere and once they are used to you they become hand tame.

Diet :- They eat a variety of foods including mealworms,   chicken and ham.   They also eat fruit,   vegetables and nuts.

Life expectancy :- 10-12 years.
