The Practice invests heavily each year in updating and providing the best equipment for the monitoring and investigation of the health of your pet.

Gaseous Anaesthesia is provided using the most modern of Isoflurane and Sevoflurane anaesthetic machines and the health of animals under the anaesthesia are monitored routinely with ECG monitors, Respiratory monitors and Pulse oximeters (which measures the oxygen concentration of the blood).

Our surgical facilities include a range of Rigid and Flexible endoscopes with video camera attachments to allow the best of examination and biopsy sampling, even in the smallest of species. Our full range of microsurgical instruments are used not just for ophthalmic surgery but also controlled microsurgery in our small patients (Birds, reptiles and exotics). Specialised surgical equipment includes a Radiosurgical unit (for making incisions with the minimum of haemorrhage).

Our imaging department has a state of the art Ultrasound system with Colour flow Doppler and a range of probes for the smallest to the largest of patients. Our radiographs are developed with an automatic processor to guarantee the highest quality of diagnostic plates. For assessing Cardiac cases we also has ElectroCardiography (ECG) which allows assessment of the functioning heart.

Our Ophthalmic department as many instrument for assessing vision (especially when Cataracts are present) and includes ElectroRetinography (ERG) which allows assessment of retinal function. We are one of the few practices in the country with this facility. Much of our surgery is performed under one of our to Operating Microscopes. Each year we perform a large number of Cataract removals with our Alcon Phacoemulsification unit and can also further improve vision by the placement of artificial lenses in suitable cases. We also have a Diode Laser allowing us to treat a number of ocular tumours. Glaucoma sugrery includes placement of artificial Drainage systems, Diode Laser Cyclophotocoagulopathy and in the final phase, placement of Intrascleral prosthesis.

Whilst an animal is hospitalised under our care, the dogs and cats are kept in Kennels built with comfort in mind which are of various sizes and include two walk-in kennels for even the largest of dogs. The Exotic animal ward is equipped with purpose built vivaria for the Reptiles and suitable cages for all sizes of Birds. The room is maintained at a higher then normal temperature and the vivaria have their own heaters and Full spectrum (including UV) lights.

Fees

There is no NHS for animals and therefore all Veterinary Practices are Private. The costs involved in building, maintaining, stocking and equipping the practice are all borne by the Partnership, as are the wages of all the staff together with their continuing education.

A fee is charged for each visit and all services that are provided by the practice. We welcome the opportunity to give an estimate of any possible costs involved. We accept payment by Cash, Cheque (with a Bankers Card) or Credit Card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Switch or Delta). We are also happy to offer an interest free payment plan (written details on request) for all clients that fulfil a few required conditions.

Please do not be afraid to discuss fees with us. This is best done before any treatment is started so that you are fully aware of the potential charges. We do not operate an account system but require payment at the time, in order to keep our costs down for all our clients and reduce the possibility of bad debts.

We strongly encourage the concept of Pet Insurance which removes many of the worries and concerns over the costs of veterinary medicine. We are happy to offer advice on this subject.
